Luminary has once again been recognised as an Umbraco Contributing Partner, highlighting our ongoing commitment to the platform. Contributing Partners are acknowledged for going ‘above and beyond in their contributions to the Umbraco ecosystem’.

What does it mean to be an Umbraco Contributing Partner?

To become a Contributing Partner you need to contribute significantly to one or more of the below:

  • Documentation
  • Core PR
  • Other Umbraco products
  • Packages
  • Tutorials/YouTube videos
  • Supporting MVPs
  • Organising meetups
  • Organising festivals
  • Organising hackathons
  • Community initiatives.

Luminary’s contributions to Umbraco

Key factors in the decision to once again award the Contributing Partner badge to Luminary included:

Two Umbraco MVPs on the team – Luminary has two Umbraco MVPs, including Technical Director Emmanuel Tissera, and Solutions Architect Mario Lopez. Luminary provides Mario and Emmanuel with company time each week to contribute to the Umbraco community.

Packages – Mario maintains the ‘Iconic’ and ‘Conditional Displayers’ packages, ensuring they are kept up-to-date and relevant for the latest Umbraco versions.

Umbraco events – In 2024, Luminary hosted five Umbraco Meetups, organised by Emmanuel. Luminary provided the venue, technology, and refreshments to participants. Furthermore, Luminary has been involved in the initial planning stages for UDUF 2025, demonstrating its commitment to larger community events.

Other community events – Luminary also actively engages in broader community initiatives. As an organising committee member for DDD Melbourne, Emmanuel secured Umbraco as a sponsor for the 2024 event, exposing the Umbraco brand to more than 500 developers.

Umbraco Education Program – Luminary and Emmanuel organised the Umbraco Education Program for 22 high school students and four teachers, delivered to students from two high schools in Sri Lanka on 4 January 2025.

Looking to the future

We are proud to be one of just 46 Umbraco Contributing Partners worldwide.
